Say Goodbye to Breast Cancer

It’s my last week co-hosting the Blog Hop for Hope and I’m so grateful to Jess and Jackie for letting me play nice in their bloggy sandbox!

I’m really quite upset that October is coming to an end. I love being able to get out there and rally for breast cancer while the rest of the world is paying attention to it too, but the most important thing to remember is that cancer doesn’t just go away when October 31st closes its eyes.  Cancer is around every minute of every day like a gnat that refuses to dry up and accept the winter season is upon it.  Cancer patients will still feel pain, still need to go to radiation, still need to make themselves eat on November 1st.  Cancer is sunset to sunrise, 365.

So while October comes to an end, and the world becomes less pink-centered, remember, those who battled this disease every day in October while the world’s eyes were upon them, pushing them to the cancer free zone, will still need help, they’ll still need the push and the encouragement to get up the next morning and fight like hell.  Give that to them every day, no matter what cancer they may be fighting.  Every day is a battle, every day it must be won.

Thank you to everyone who has linked up thus far and shared your empowering and hopeful stories, and to those who made me cry like a small child.  It’s times like these we are reminded of our humanity.  It’s times like these we need to band together as humans and fight the good fight and take down what takes down so many of us physically and emotionally.

Remember, the American Cancer Society will always take donations, as will most charities, no matter the month, season, or cause they’re fighting for.  Consider making donations to your favorite cause any time you have some spare change, it really can add up to make a world of difference for a patient that needs care.  And lest we not forget, someday that patient could be us.  Wouldn’t we want an army of warriors behind us ready to fight too?

So as we say goodbye to October, let’s also look forward to the near future when we say goodbye to breast cancer, and all cancers for a world with more birthdays and less heartache!

*Supporting breast cancer has been a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. By linking up your blogs with survivor stories, breast cancer facts, stories of how you support the cause, donation pages, letters to a loved one loss to breast cancer could help spread awareness. It's def OK if you don't have any breast cancer stories or facts, all we ask is for you to link up your blog, and hop around you might find some interesting breast cancer info that way :)

Here's a little stat for you if you haven't been able to read or research...1 out of 8 women have a chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. That's a real fact! If you have a family history of cancer, you should schedule an appointment every year to check for bumps. As well as always checking yourself at least once a month at home.
I look forward to seeing what my blogger friends are up to this week!! This blog hop will take place Every Wednesday this month! My goal is to continue this blog hop past October but we will see how well the blog hop does.  There are co-host spots available, if your interested in being a co-host, email me at lilmadjesse85@gmail.com
